It appears that NSW Roads & Maritime Services are having difficulty to agree with the majority of community members that walk across the dangerous junction at Luxford Road, Mount Druitt, entrance to Westfield. Hundreds of people walk across this road, risking their lives.
I hope no accident doesn't happen, yet it seems like they are waiting for it to happen! I am not tertiary qualified and after I received the original letter from Council dated 12th May 2014. Where it was pinpointed out to myself that we were looking at a 'Pedestrian Walk Phase' not a 'Pedestrian Crossing'! So I contacted the relevant Council Officer and immediately apologised that I didn't know of the terminology used and he immediately said he would make further inquiries as there was a lady with children that was in an accident incident a few years ago!
Isn't this proof enough! So inquiries were going to be for a ' Pedestrian walk phase' and letter recently came back about a 'Pedestrian Crossing'.
There are plenty of intersections in and around Blacktown Local Government area that have 'Pedestrian walk phases' - That is what we need Council to go back to 'The drawing board of ' and refer to their suggestion made on the letter of 12th May 2014.
