Illegal Communy Notices - It Is The Same Issue as Election Posters On Electricity Poles - Needs To Be Removed

Just imagine that  in every street, we allow  personal signs to be placed on other signs, trees and poles, how would it look like? Well, it would not look very impressive, it would  distract the look of the community and there is other ways to advertise personal ads.

This is how it could could look and although, it looks organised, to me it is also confusing. Which sign would you read? Or what is the main sign.

I'm not to sure what the laws are in relation to leaving  signs publicly in or hanging on trees. I would presume that there is some law or by-law that really doesn't allow for this to happen - but it happens! On time to time, we do see personal signs out to be seen by the public in different places, out in the streets but now with social media - this could change.

Face Book may be a means or way were local authorities could allow communities to advertise events like garage sales possibly in a legal way rather than do it this way:

Mount Druitt Needs History To Be Displayed And Seen In Public Areas And Landmarks!

The Mount Druitt Historical Society has always been showing Mount Druitt's history in every way possible to the open public (Click here for info.). George Nicolaides OAM is a prominent member of the his group as well as former Real Estate Agent Reg. Murray. George being a former Blacktown City Council Mayor understands the planning measures used in the past to provide a growing Mount Druitt - Rooty Hill area.

Community infrastructure did just not happen! You can learn a lot from him as I have done so as well.

So what does this mean, we can learn how members of  historical soiceties engage, educate the community and I have just learned by reading one historical sign in Parramatta that this is something that could be adapted within Mount Druitt historical landmarks, even parks, gardens and reserves and maybe within Blacktown City Council itself.

I never knew of William Noller and I didn't know he was instrumental in providing this 'bubbler fountain' within this small Parramatta community park, which is quite tranquil.  I understand he was a former Councillor of Parramatta City Council and was a long term serving member. Anyone that spends 20 years or more in public life  has really dedicated their life.

Why is this important? We must not forget our local history and the people that made Parramatta and in our case the people that made Mount Druitt: William Mason  from William Mason Reserve, Major Druitt naming of Mount Druitt, Shennan Walkway, Bukari Reserve, Fred Crowpe  from Fred Crowpe Reserve, Rupertswood Park and  Doctor Charles McKay Reserve just to mention a few, maybe between Blacktown City Council and the Mount Druitt Historical Society, history can be displayed to the public. I 'm sure there are many out there interested and  then there can be historic walks possibly included.

'No Swimming Signs' At William Mason Reserve, North Mount Druitt Need To Be Replaced!

Whilst in the beginning time of living in the actual suburb of Mount Druitt I was questioning 'No Swimming' signs displayed in William Mason Reserve North Mount Druitt (Click here) and without response from Blacktown City Council, response from mother's nature own local rainfall. Luckily, I have seen no one swimming in these over flooded fielded lakes.

Now, I have to question why people want to destroy these signs  that educate the community on what  can be done or not, within the community. These 2 signs needs to be replaced now but I would like to add that if Blacktown City Council could add some supporting wording which reflect why the signs are there. In other words, provide more information to the community, better educated.

First 10 Storey Building In Mount Druitt Replaces Sams Wharehouse/Planet X - Mount Druitt Standard

This is an improvement that was due to happen, median density housing around the major hubs of Blacktown City Council and this is supported by Council's own Blacktown Local Environmental Plan 2015, which plans for the  next 20-30 years.

The problem is that planning for future population increase for Australia, starts from planning withing local government area. With local government plans, progress could not and would not be made by allowing an increase in population by natural means or  accepting new immigrant people into the country. People need places to live and if there isn't enough places to live, catering for this intake of population then we cannot accept increased population.

The more people live in our country, the more land we need for housing  or increased median and even high density housing which is the answer to allowing more people to live in the area.

I support this application as well as other applications to allow more people to live into the area. This will also be an uplift into the area, which is required. The only thing to say is every single day, week, month and year, we live in Mount Druitt there is new people living in the area.  Yet, not every day do we have more housing being made available for the increased population.

NSW RMS Approves Pedestrian Phase Walkway At Luxford Road, North Mount Druitt - Now Up To Council To Make Requests!

Image result for nsw rms
Well, with about 20 months of advocating and lobbying for a phase walkway at Luxford Road, North Mount from myself (blog after blog), and finding another North Mount Druitt community improvement advocate Richard (as I found out recently), support from the retired NSW Member for Mount Druitt, Richard Amery (last year), no support from Westfield Mount Druitt, Councillor Jacqueline Donaldson, who has raised this issue at Blacktown City Council and I'm pretty sure the Mayor from Blacktown, Councillor Stephen Bali ( who has been keeping an eye on these blogs), there will be a major safety improvement at the exit entrance of Westfield, North Mount Druitt, where a pedestrian walk way will be implemented in due time, on the eastern side of the traffic lights, appoved by NSW Roads and Maritime Services.

This in itself, is a big win for the community, the community that jay walks across and doesn't understand the danger they have placed themselves into. This hasn't happened since the traffic lights were installed decades ago.

This is the result of the initial inquiry made to NSW Roads and Maritime Services website and I present this letter for viewing for all the community:

Now it is up to  Image result for blacktown city council to make a submission as all costings has been provided and they need to  seek funding as Luxford Road is a State Road.

Mount Druitt Crisis Hospital - NSW State Member For Mount Druitt - Edmond Atalla On 2GB Drive Time!

Image result for Edmond AtallaNSW State Member for Mount Druitt, Edmond Atalla waiving  the Mount Druitt hospital flag, for proper coronary and maternity services that are lacking in Mount Druitt. So Edmond was given an opportunity to discuss this issue with 2GB Drive Time Host, Ben Fordham.

It is good that our Mr Atalla, is not remaining quite on this issue and is showing us that 'Why he loves Mount Druitt'! I do think that  not providing proper medical services at each qualified NSW Health hospital, it is not ideal for Mount Druitt community members. Proper Health Services should be more then adequately facilitated to provide all vital essential medical services to all members of all communities, no matter how life threatening rating it is. So I agree, that people from Mount Druitt do not want to travel outside of Mount Druitt for life threatening medical requirements.

Keep on the good work Edmond and thank you for his Electoral Officer Phil, to update the wider community with this important potential important.

Comments From Mayor Councillor, Stephen Bali On Support for 'No' On Change Of Name 'Blacktown City Council'!

Response from Mayor, Stephen Bali on 'No' support for Change of Blacktown City Council name referendum (email received):

Stephen Bali <Stephen.Bali@blacktown.nsw.gov.au>   09:07 (21 minutes ago)

Hi John,

Thanks for links.

Well said John. We should be focusing on real issues that affect residents of Blacktown City. My team of Councillors will not be diverted from important issues by focusing on this irrelevant divisive name change issue.

Last council meeting, apart from the name change issue, we approved many great new initiatives.  These included a new Hall of Fame for our brightest and best residents so as to inspire the next generation; new council procurement policy to provide additional weighting to local Blacktown City businesses when tendering; important fitness initiatives; new mini-train for Nurragingy Reserve; improvements to the Workers Memorial; environmental recognition program for businesses; continuing the improvements to Council run childcare centres etc etc

So please rest assure that whilst some Councillors want to talk about a name change, as Mayor, I will continue to strive to improve our services and develop new initiatives for our Great Blacktown City!

A Conscious Vote Required From Blacktown City Councillors To Consider Change Of Blacktown City Council Name!

Image result for change of City Council name
A conscious vote and a secret ballot is required is what is required by Blacktown City Councillors of Blacktown City Council to vote, before for or against a change of name referendum, for many reasons.

Although, history confirms that the original  naming of Blacktown City Council had potential racial connotations against indigenous people, it seems that we as communities and the city has either raised up or moved within this local government area the name Blacktown has been accepted with great respect from the indigenous community and people, as well as the rest of the community.

A few years ago, I had spoken to Blacktown City Councillor, Russ Dickens about this issue and he had  given myself strong cause for a change of Council's name. I thought then, the idea was good, had valid points but I know that it would've been difficult to send his message to the wider Blacktown City Council constituents and residents.

Image result for change of nameI listened at a Council meeting where his motion was defeated to change the Council name, back then. Councillor Dickens is most likely the flag bearer prime mover raising this issue again and is apparently behind this new change of  Blacktown City Council name.

Whilst debate can be made on both sides on whether Council is taking on real issues, we must be always prepared and ready for change, yet it should not happen unless it has the entire community right behind it, wholeheartedily.

At this stage I can not find a supporter within the community on face book groups within Mount Druitt and talking to people on the streets from different places around Blacktown local government area. Yet, I do believe that although the vote was taken and decided by all Blacktown City Councillors for a community referendum  at the next general Council elections 2016, this could be overturned by a conscious vote or two.

I say this as there is an overall majority o community members that are just quite happy with Blacktown City Council name as it is. Some thoughts are if changed, real estate agents may support this as it could increase the real estate markets in and around Blacktown. 'More money into their pocket'.

The $1M funds that would be spent on the referendum is felt could be better spent on improved  community services or infrastructure improvements.

Before, I was sitting on the fence on this issue but I do not believe it should go through even to a referendum. I have been swung by the cases against this change of name, even if it would happen in my life time. Next, there could be a change of name for Mount Druitt? Again, I hope not!

As easy as it sounds, it is not just a formality if the referendum continues and is passed. There is so much to do to change the City Council name: street signs, maps, building names, memorial plaques, google maps, councils website, twitter, face book, logo, letter heads, you tube video's with sister cities and other related video's, business and community website's details with Councils names,  hub directory maps, all other State and Federal government elected representatives, departments and bureaucrats will have to be notified.

So I plead and beg that Councillor consciously makes recommendations to review the general election referendum for change of Council name and makes sure that it is cancelled and null and void. I'm only one person in Mount Druitt, yet my voice can seek, carry and influence change of heart to community members and Councillors of our area as each issue is raised.

I would rather a public debate at Bowman Hall and what the interest is!

Without this group and the former Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs Save our Bus Services,  2 major bus services would not have been returned to the community, after being removed by the previous NSW Government of 2009.

This is your chance to have your say! Local, State and Federal politicians look up to the group for local public transport issues!

A Win For Rooty Hill Commuters - Train Station Upgrade - Who Claims The Prize! - Daily Telegraph News Local

One of the wins the from the NSW State Government is the Rooty Hill train station upgrade in a Labor held Mount Druitt State Seat, which is in planning stages, is a great news for the community.

Hard campaigners like the Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group inc, had lobbied to  NSW State Government and local government on many occasions and won the battle for the community, I know  as I was former twice elected President. We understand that one on the  improvement that the former NSW State Member for Mount Druitt, Mr. Richard Amery, and most of all candidates that for the Mount Druitt seat at the last State Election, held earlier this year, Olivia Lloyd, Brent Robinson, Edmond Atalla and Joshua Green.

I am sure that the newly elected NSW State Member of Mount Druitt, Edmond Atalla  has been carrying the Rooty Hill Station upgrade flag and I feel that he thought it may not be done whilst under a NSW re-elected Government. That is how politics is! Politics aside people do matter!

Credit also goes to the thousands that signed petitions organised by former NSW Mount Druitt member, Richard Amery and by current Federal Member for Chifley, Mr. Ed Husic.

So in order of preference community of  Rooty Hill and surrounding suburbs and it's commuter needs to be congratulated first. Thanks to all that have have tirelessly given their time up for this cause.
